Kern Health Systems, based in Bakersfield, Calif., is expected to name Doug Hayward CEO, according to a Bakersfield Californian report.
Mr. Hayward currently serves as the executive director of Solano Coalition for Better Health. He will succeed former CEO Carol Sorrell, who resigned in June.
KHS is an independent taxpayer-funded insurance agency created by the county and consists of approximately 180 employees. KHS is similar to an HMO in that it manages healthcare through a network of providers for Medi-Cal recipients.
