John Remillard joins Elizabethtown Community Hospital as interim CEO: 7 things to know

Elizabethtown (N.Y.) Community Hospital, part of Burlington-based University of Vermont Health Network, has named John Remillard interim administrator and CEO, effective Feb. 8.

Here are seven things to know about Mr. Remillard.

1. He is taking over for Rod Boula, who has accepted a position as CEO of Calais (Maine) Regional Hospital.

2. Mr. Remillard has more than three decades of healthcare leadership experience.

3. Most recently, he was president and CEO of A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital in Oneonta, N.Y.

4. In his new position, Mr. Remillard will oversee operations at Elizabethtown Community Hospital, and also assist with the University of Vermont Health Network's transition plan of Inter-Lakes Health and Moses Ludington Hospital, both based in Ticonderoga, N.Y.

5. Mr. Remillard earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from LeMoyne College in Syracuse, N.Y., and a master's degree in healthcare administration from Russell Sage in Troy, N.Y.

6. He is licensed as a nursing home administrator and is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

7. He has served on several professional organizations including the Healthcare Association of New York State, the Iroquois Healthcare Alliance, the American Hospital Association Governing Council for Small or Rural Hospitals and the Healthcare Financial Managers Association.
