Dallas-based Methodist Health System appointed John Phillips president of Methodist Dallas Medical Center.

1. Mr. Phillips most recently served as president of Methodist Mansfield (Texas) Medical Center.
2. He previously held CEO and COO positions with several health systems, including Irving, Texas-based Christus Health and Hendrick Health System in Abilene, Texas.
3. He holds an MBA and a master's degree in healthcare administration from Trinity University in San Antonio.
4. Mr. Phillips succeeds Martin Koonsman, MD, who is taking on a new role with Methodist Health System.
