Joan Coffman, president and CEO of HSHS St. Mary's Hospital in Decatur, Ill., is resigning, effective July 13, according to a Herald & Review report.
Here are five things to know:
1. Ms. Coffman is leaving to take on the president and CEO role at St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington, La.
2. She assumed the top post at HSHS St. Mary's nine months ago.
3. During her short tenure, she oversaw the hospital's $9 million intensive care unit renovation as well as the construction of a $12 million medical office building.
4. Previously, Ms. Coffman was CEO of HSHS St. Joseph's Hospital in Chippewa Falls, Wis.
5. E.J. Kuiper, president and CEO of HSHS' Central Illinois Division hospitals, will serve as interim leader of HSHS St. Mary's.
