Howard University Hospital in Washington, D.C., named Crystal L. Wheeler chief people officer, effective July 9.
Here are four things to know:
1. Ms. Wheeler formerly served as director of human resources for General Dynamics Information Technology, a provider of IT and systems engineering to the federal, state and local government and commercial sectors.
2. Her prior experience includes serving as senior director of HR at USA Today as well as in several HR roles at Booz Allen Hamilton, a management and IT consulting firm.
3. She is a member of the Society for Human Resources Management.
4. Ms. Wheeler holds a master's degree in business and industry training from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Va.
