Houston Methodist Willowbrook Hospital has named Nancy Keenan, RN, MSN, vice president and CNO.
Here are five things to know about Ms. Keenan.
1. She has more than 40 years of nursing experience and more than 20 years of senior leadership experience to Houston Methodist Willowbrook.
2. Most recently, she was vice president and CEO of CHRISTUS St. Michael Health System in Texarkana, Texas. There, she led the implementation of new clinical services and enhanced electronic documentation while creating an environment centered on excellence in patient care, safety, and professional development, according to a news release.
3. In her new role, Ms. Keenan will be responsible for advancing nursing and clinical practice as the hospital continues to grow and expand this year and into the future. Specifically, she will lead Houston Methodist Willowbrook as it seeks Magnet resdesignation by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and will also serve as the hospital's business practices officer.
4. Ms. Keenan has a master's degree in nursing administration from Minneapolis-based Walden University, a master's degree in business administration and bachelor's degree in healthcare administration from the University of Houston-Clear Lake, as well as a nursing diploma from Washington Hospital Center School of Nursing, based in Washington, D.C.
5. She has presented at national nursing conferences and has served on advisory committees for multiple college nursing programs.
