New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery has named Mary Cassai, BSN, RN, executive vice president and chief operating officer, effective Aug. 14.
Ms. Cassai comes to the hospital from NewYork-Presbyterian, also based in New York City, according to a June 13 news release. She served the health system for 16 years, most recently as senior vice president of perioperative services.
Hers is the second C-level appointment from Hospital for Special Surgery recently. In February, the hospital named Surgeon-in-Chief and Medical Director Bryan Kelly, MD, its next president; he is transitioning into the CEO role over the course of the year as Louis Shapiro retires.
