Bill Rutherford is retiring as CFO of Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare after a decade in the role.
Mr. Rutherford has been with HCA for 34 years, according to the health system's Jan. 30 quarterly earnings report. He became CFO on Jan. 1, 2014.
He will be succeeded by Mike Marks, HCA's senior vice president of finance. Mr. Marks will assume the role of executive vice president and CFO on May 1. He has been with HCA since 1996.
"Bill has had a tremendous impact during his ten years as CFO," HCA CEO Sam Hazen said in the report. "The impressive operating results and shareholder returns achieved throughout his tenure are a testament to his leadership and disciplined approach to driving profitable growth. Without question, Bill's legacy will endure."
