David Shimp is Del Sol Medical Center's new CEO: 3 notes

Del Sol Medical Center in El Paso, Texas, appointed David Shimp CEO, according to an El Paso Times report.

Here are three notes:

1. Mr. Shimp most recently served as COO of St. David's Medical Center in Austin, Texas.

2. He has worked with Nashville, Tenn.-based Hospital Corporation of America for 14 years. HCA is Del Sol Medical Center's the parent company and it owns a majority in St. David's Healthcare in Austin.

3. He succeeds Jacob Cintron, who left to serve as CEO of University Medical Center of El Paso.
