Boston-based Dana-Farber Cancer Institute has named Laurie H. Glimcher, MD, CEO, effective January 2017, according to The Boston Globe.
Here are three things to know about Dr. Glimcher.
1. Dr. Glimcher, an immunologist, is currently dean of Cornell University's Weill Cornell Medical College in New York City.
2. She graduated from Harvard Medical School in Boston and later worked as a Harvard professor and physician at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston.
3. In her new role, she will succeed Edward J. Benz Jr., MD, who is retiring.
