Jeff Brannon, RN, CEO of Flowers Hospital in Dothan, Ala., will step down from his role and transition into a position focused on healthcare education and business development.
Steve Gordon will join the hospital as CEO in spring 2025, according to a Jan. 29 hospital news release shared with Becker's.
Mr. Brannon joined Flowers Hospital as a patient care technician before becoming a registered nurse in the ICU. He later served as the hospital's COO and led other hospitals as CEO before returning to Flowers to take the helm in 2020.
In his new role, he will support workforce development through the hospital's partnership with Jersey College School of Nursing's Dothan campus and will continue serving on state and national hospital committees.
Mr. Gordon brings more than 20 years of healthcare leadership experience to the hospital, most recently serving as CEO of Longview (Texas) Regional Medical Center. Before that, he held COO roles at hospitals in Florida and Texas.
"Healthcare is ever changing and this transition will allow me to serve Flowers Hospital in new ways to continue the advancement of medical care here in the Wiregrass," Mr. Brannon said in the release. "I look forward to working with Steve to continue Flowers Hospital's strong tradition of providing safe, quality care while remaining committed to our mission of caring for patients as family."
Flowers Hospital is a 235-bed facility that serves as a tertiary referral center for South Alabama, Southwest Georgia and Northwest Florida, the release said.
