9 recent hospital, health system CEO moves

Becker's Hospital Review reported the following hospital and health system CEO moves in the last week.

The executives are listed below, alphabetically.

1. Sovah Health-Martinsville (Va.) has appointed Dale F. Alward CEO.

2. Massena (N.Y.) Memorial Hospital has named David Bender CEO amid an agreement that allows Potsdam, N.Y.-based St. Lawrence Health System to manage the hospital.

3. Hartford (Conn.) HealthCare has selected Jeffrey A. Flaks to serve as president and CEO, effective Sept. 1.

4. Augusta (Ga.) University Health System has tapped Katrina Keefer to serve as CEO, effective July 15.

5. Miami-based Nicklaus Children's Health System CEO Narendra Kini, MD, resigned June 28, ending an 11-year tenure.

6. Boca Raton (Fla.) Regional Hospital selected Lincoln S. Mendez to serve as CEO, effective in August.

7. Steven M. Safyer, MD, president and CEO of New York City-based Montefiore Medicine, announced his plans to retire.

8. Michael Slubowski has started his tenure as president and CEO of Livonia, Mich.-based Trinity Health, effective July 1.

9. Cheverly-based University of Maryland Capital Region Health has appointed Joseph L. Wright, MD, interim president and CEO, effective July 7.
