81 CEOs left hospitals this year

Hospitals have seen 81 CEO departures in 2018, according to a report from global outplacement consultancy and executive coaching firm Challenger, Gray & Christmas.

CEO changes at hospitals represent 10.9 percent of the 879 CEO changes at U.S. companies this year. Within the healthcare and products sector, which is counted separately from hospitals, 85 CEO exits were recorded.

CEO turnover in the healthcare and products and hospital sectors was among the highest across all industries. Only the government and nonprofit sector, computer sector, and finance sector saw higher turnover.
