The following hospital and health system CEO moves have recently been reported by Becker's:

April 24-30

1. Kevin Yingling, RPh, MD, the inaugural CEO of Huntington, W.V.-based Marshall Health Network, plans to retire in 2025. 

2. Jared Abel was named CEO of Atchison, Kan.-based Amberwell Health. 

3. Jason Edwards has submitted his resignation as interim CEO of Salem (Mo.) Memorial Hospital, effective May 22. CFO Doug Hoban is stepping down the same day. Both leaders cited personal reasons for their departures. 

4. Sandy McKenzie has been named president and CEO of Dalton, Ga.-based Hamilton Medical Center, the flagship hospital of Hamilton Health Care System. 

5. Darlene Wetton, CEO of Temecula (Calif.) Valley Hospital, was promoted to group vice president, California, of Southwest Healthcare, the hospital's parent company. 

6. Steve Altmiller will be retiring as president and CEO of WVU Medicine Camden Clark Medical Center in Parkersburg, W.Va.

April 18-23

1. Jennifer Burrows, RN, was named chief executive of Providence Oregon, effective May 6.

2. Jody Prather, MD, was named president and CEO of Loveland-based HealthSource of Ohio, a community health center.

3. Terry Forde, president and CEO of Gaithersburg, Md.-based Adventist HealthCare, will step down from his role Aug. 2. He has accepted a new role as CEO of Health First, based in Brevard County, Fla.

4. Chris Jones has resigned as interim CEO and COO of St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Enid, Okla., part of King of Prussia, Pa.-based Universal Health Services. Krista Roberts — who retired from the hospital in 2023 after 33 years with the organization and six as CEO — will return and fufill the roles in an interim capacity. 

5. Luis Fonseca is leaving his position as CEO of Atrium Health Navicent Baldwin hospital in Milledgeville, Ga., to serve in a vice president role at Macon, Ga.-based All-State Electrical. Delvecchio Finley, president of Atrium Health Navicent, will fill the CEO opening.

6. Michelle Fuentes has been named president and CEO of AdventHealth Castle Rock (Colo.), effective May 27. 

7. Kevin Rinks was selected as president and CEO of St. Vincent's Southside in Jacksonville, Fla., part of St. Louis-based Ascension. 

8. Bryan Walrath was selected as president and CEO of St. Vincent's Clay County in Middleburg, Fla., also part of Ascension. 

9. Jim Woodward is retiring as president and CEO of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, which is based in the Philadelphia area and includes five hospitals across Pennsylvania and Delaware.

10. Kathryn Correia is retiring as president and CEO of Portland-based Legacy Health as the health system works to finalize a merger agreement with Oregon Health & Science University. George Brown, MD — who served as Legacy CEO from 2008 to 2018 — has been selected to lead the health system again. 

11. Robert Erickson was named president and CEO of Hospital Sisters Health System's Wisconsin market. 

April 11-17

1. John Dalrymple, MD, was selected as the new dean and CEO of the Kaiser Permanente Bernard J. Tyson School of Medicine in Pasadena, Calif.

2. Michael Israel will retire as president and CEO of Westchester Medical Center and the Westchester Medical Center Health Network in Valhalla, N.Y., at the end of 2025.

3. Jessica Campbell is the new CEO of Wellstone Regional Hospital in Jeffersonville, Ind. 

4. Doug Holzbog was named market CEO for three Texas hospitals: Palestine Regional Medical Center, Ennis Regional Medical Center and Parkview Regional Hospital. The hospitals are part of Louisville, Ky.-based ScionHealth. 

5. Jason Owen was named president and CEO of Nashville, Tenn.-based Envision Healthcare. 

6. Richard McLaughlin, MD, was named president and CEO of Tower Health's Phoenixville (Pa.) Hospital and Pottstown (Pa.) Hospital.

7. Ryan Thornton, BSN, RN, was named president and CEO of North Suburban Medical Center in Thornton, Colo. The hospital is part of HealthOne, a Denver-based branch of HCA Healthcare. 

8. Kerry Herbine was named CEO of Community HealthCare System in Onaga, Kan.

9. Rick Francis, a state representative for District 145, was appointed CEO of Cape Girardeau, Mo.-based Cross Trails Medical Center.

10. Katherine Vergos, RN, was named president of Dignity Health's Las Vegas market and president and CEO of the Siena Hospital Campus in Henderson, Nev.

11. Jay deVenny was appointed CEO of Medical City Dallas.

April 4-10

1. Roshanda Thomas has resigned as CEO of Memorial Medical Center in Port Lavaca, Texas. Erin Clevenger — the hospital's chief nursing officer and clinical services administrator — was named interim CEO.

2. Rolla Sweis, PharmD, was named president and CEO of Chicago-based La Rabida Children's Hospital.

3. Peter Fine, who has served as Phoenix-based Banner Health's CEO for 24 years, will retire June 30.

4. Charles Lovell, RN, plans to retire as CEO of Barbourville (Ky.) ARH Hospital.

5. Binesh Patel, MD, was named CEO of McLaren Medical Group, which is part of Grand Blanc, Mich.-based McLaren Health Care.

6. Josh Hester was promoted to CEO of Detroit Medical Center's Adult Central Campus.

7. Judy Rich is retiring as president and CEO of Tucson, Ariz.-based TMC Health, a role she assumed in 2007.

8. Michael Good, MD, the CEO of Salt Lake City-based University of Utah Health and the University of Utah senior vice president of health sciences, will transition from his administrative roles later in 2024.

9. Crystal Landry, RN, is stepping down as CEO of Lincoln, Maine-based Penobscot Valley Hospital to spend more time with family.

March 28 - April 3

1. Phil Buttell was named CEO of the Los Robles Health System that includes HCA Healthcare's Los Robles Regional Medical Center in Thousand Oaks, Calif.

2. Jodi Mohr is the new CEO of Merrick Medical Center in Central City, Neb., a subsidiary of Bryan Health. 

3. Dave Santoemma was named CEO of Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford, N.C.

4. Amy Carrier is no longer president and CEO of Lynchburg, Va.-based Centra Health. Richard Tugman — president and CEO of Piedmont Community Health Plan, a Centra subsidiary — will take Ms. Carrier's place on an interim basis.

5. Sean Wolfe has been selected as interim CEO of Chadron (Neb.) Community Hospital & Health Services, in addition to his role as CFO of a nearby, unaffiliated hospital. 

March 21-27

1. Heather Aaron was named CEO of Washington, D.C.-based Whitman-Walker Health System.

2. Mark Smith was named president and CEO of AdventHealth Avista in Louisville, Colo.

3. Rayna Bittel has resigned as CEO of Grisell Memorial Hospital in Ransom, Kan. Frank Safrit, PhD, MSN, RN, has succeeded her. 

4. Mike Marshall was named president and CEO of Maryville, Ill.-based Anderson Healthcare.

5. Stephen Kuhn was named CEO of River Park Hospital in Huntington, W.Va.

6. Mary Ellen Wells was named CEO of Litchfield, Minn.-based Meeker Memorial Hospital and Clinics.

7. Staci Thompson was named president and CEO of Cooperstown, N.Y.-based Bassett Healthcare Network.

8. Jim Hess is no longer CEO of Midvale, Utah-based Highland Ridge Hospital as the psychiatric facility risks losing its license.

March 14-20

1. Andrew Jahn was named president and CEO of Altamonte Springs, Fla.-based AdventHealth's multistate division.

2. Greg Nielsen has been promoted from interim to permanent CEO of East Jefferson General Hospital in Metairie, La.

3. Madhu Sasidhar, MD, has left the helm of Cleveland Clinic's Tradition Hospital in Port St. Lucie, Fla., for a new role as president and CEO of the hospital division of Apollo Hospitals Group, the largest private healthcare network in India.

4. Richard Newell was appointed president and CEO of Temple Health-Chestnut Hill Hospital in Philadelphia.

March 7-13

1. Dale Maxwell plans to retire this year as CEO of Albuquerque, N.M.-based Presbyterian Healthcare Services.

2. Hollie Seeley, RN, was named CEO of Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento (Calif.). 

3. Peter Banko, former president of a three-state division within Chicago-based CommonSpirit and former CEO of its Centura Health joint venture, was selected as the new president and CEO of Springfield, Mass.-based Baystate Health. 

4. Eulanie Lashley was named president and CEO of Texas Health Hospital Mansfield, a joint venture of Altamonte Springs, Fla.-based AdventHealth and Arlington-based Texas Health Resources.

5. Craig Lambrecht, MD, has resigned as CEO of the combined Billings Clinic-Logan Health system, which merged into a nine-hospital entity Sept. 1.  

6. Simon Ratliff was named CEO of two hospitals belonging to Valparaiso, Ind.-based Northwest Health: one in La Porte, one in Starke. 

7. Dallas Purkeypile was named president and CEO of AdventHealth South Overland Park (Kan.), part of Altamonte Springs, Fla.-based AdventHealth.

Feb. 29 - March 6

1. Rhonda McCabe was promoted from CFO to CEO of Nacogdoches (Texas) Memorial Hospital after Lion Star, the group that runs the hospital, reached an agreement with the Nacogdoches (Texas) County Hospital District to transition hospital operations to the district.

2. Bill Sheron is retiring as president and CEO of Wooster (Ohio) Community Hospital. Scott Boyes, CFO and COO at Wooster, has been selected to succeed Mr. Sheron after a new CFO is hired.

3. John Cacciamani, MD, is stepping down from his role as president and CEO of  Philadelphia-based Chestnut Hill Hospital, part of Philadelphia-based Temple Health. Jeremy Slaga, chief integration officer at Temple Health, is stepping in as interim CEO.

4. Lauren Geddes Wirth, MD, was named interim CEO of Dartmouth Health's New London (N.H.) Hospital, effective April 3. Its current CEO, Tom Manion, recently accepted a new role as COO of Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H.

5. Stephen Motew, MD, was named president and CEO of Gainesville, Fla.-based University of Florida Health. 

6. Darrell Lentz has stepped down from his position as president and CEO of McLaren Bay Region in Bay City, Mich. The hospital did not specify a reason for his resignation.

7. Terry Gilliland, MD, was named president and CEO of Danville, Pa.-based Geisinger Health.

8. Michael Bell was named CEO of Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center in Westwood, N.J.

9. Tracy Roman was named CEO of Sutter Health's Memorial Medical Center in Modesto, Calif.

10. Scott Moran, MD, CEO of Jessup, Md.-based Clifton T. Perkins Hospital Center, agreed in court Feb. 28 to a restraining order prohibiting him from coming to Clifton as well as the state administrative offices for the Maryland Department of Health.

Feb. 22 - Feb. 28

1. Leslie Marsh was fired from her role as CEO of Lexington (Neb.) Regional Health Center. Her employment was terminated during a board meeting, where some members cited little progress in the CEO's job performance since her last evaluation in 2023.

2. Nick Howald is the new CEO of TriStar Southern Hills Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn.

3. Susan Huang, MD, was named chief executive for the Providence Clinical Network, part of Renton, Wash.-based Providence. 

4. Jeff Wilson is the new president of Trident Health and CEO of Trident Medical Center, both based in Charleston, S.C.

5. E.J. Kuiper, CEO of Chicago-based CommonSpirit Health's Midwest division, is leaving his post to helm Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System in Baton Rouge, La.

Feb. 15 - Feb. 21

1. Patrick Sharp was named CEO of Asante Three Rivers Medical Center in Grants Pass, Ore.

2. Emily Mastaler is stepping down as CEO of River Hospital in Alexandria Bay, N.Y., for a new role as chief administrative officer of Stony Brook Southampton (N.Y.) Hospital.

3. Tom Manion is wrapping up his time as president and CEO of New London (N.H.) Hospital. Its parent company, Dartmouth Health, has transferred him to the COO position at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H.

4. Marley Koons was promoted from CFO to CEO of Kearny County Hospital in Lakin, Kan.

5. Brian Dietz has chosen to step down as president and CEO of Macomb, Ill.-based McDonough District Hospital, effective Feb. 20.

6. Emily Sexton, MSN, RN, was named CEO of West Bloomfield, Mich.-based Henry Ford Behavioral Health Hospital: a joint venture between Detroit-based Henry Ford Health and Franklin, Tenn.-based Acadia Healthcare.

7. Lance Armentor was named president and CEO of Opelousas (La.) General Health System.

8. Alan Olive was named CEO of Ashley Regional Medical Center in Vernal, Utah, part of Brentwood, Tenn.-based Lifepoint Health.

9. Nathan Vooys is the new CEO of Reston (Va.) Hospital Center, part of HCA Virginia Health System.

10. Monica Reed, MD, has been named president and CEO of UChicago Medicine AdventHealth.

11. Blake Hubbard was named CEO of Valley View Medical Center in Fort Mohave, Ariz., a member of Brentwood, Tenn.-based Lifepoint Health's Western division.

12. John McDonald was appointed CEO of Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, Mo., part of HCA Healthcare. 

13. Janice Murphy, MSN, is planning to retire as president and CEO of Cleveland-based Sisters of Charity Health System. 

14. Scott Moran, MD, CEO of Clifton T. Perkins Hospital Center, a maximum-security forensic psychiatric hospital in Jessup, Md., is on leave amid allegations he bullied and threatened staff.

15. John Ballard, PhD, was named CEO of Frankfort (Ky.) Regional Medical Center.

16. Don Mueller is resigning as president and CEO of St. Christopher's Hospital for Children in Philadelphia. He has accepted a new role with Siskin Children's Institute in Chattanooga, Tenn., a nonprofit organization that provides diagnostic services and treatment for special needs children.

Feb. 8 - Feb. 14

1. Jim McGovern, MD, was named chief executive of PeaceHealth's Oregon network. The system is based in Vancouver, Wash. 

2. Sherie Hickman is retiring from her role as CEO of Sutter Delta Medical Center in Antioch, Calif. 

3. Deborah Weymouth was named president of Prospect Medical Holdings' Connecticut operations and CEO of Waterbury (Conn.) Health. In her new role, she will oversee all three of Prospect's hospitals involved in a pending sale to Yale New Haven (Conn.) Health. 

4. Michael Lane was named CEO of Sutter Coast Hospital in Crescent City, Calif.

5. Nathan Hough has resigned as president and CEO of Chadron (Neb.) Community Hospital and Health Services to pursue a new opportunity closer to family. 

6. Scott Foster, MD, has resigned as chief executive of Vancouver, Wash.-based PeaceHealth Medical Group. Born, raised and trained in the United Kingdom, Dr. Foster plans to dedicate his focus to his aging parents in Scotland. 

7. Alan Verrill, MD, was named CEO of AdventHealth Shawnee Mission in Merriam, Kan. 

8. Michael Keleman was named chief executive of two Providence hospitals in California: St. Joseph Hospital in Eureka and Redwood Memorial Hospital in Fortuna. 

9. Stace Holland is no longer CEO of Houston, Mo.-based Texas County Memorial Hospital. The board unanimously voted to remove him after he attempted to terminate the hospital's CFO,  Linda Pamperien. Mr. Holland is the second CEO in two years to exit the hospital after trying to fire Ms. Pamperian. 

Feb. 1 - Feb. 7

1. John Nickens IV was named CEO of University Medical Center New Orleans, part of LCMC Health, in addition to his current role as president of the system's hospital services. 

2. Paula Baker is retiring from her role as president and CEO of Joplin, Mo.-based Freeman Health System.

3. Timothy Hatfield was named CEO of Williamson (W.Va.) Memorial Hospital.

4. Jay Stallings plans to retire as CEO of Washakie Medical Center in Worland, Wyo., this spring.

5. Drew Tyrer is the new CEO of HCA Florida Westside Hospital, based in Plantation, Fla. 

6. Carol Burrell plans to retire as president and CEO of Gainesville-based Northeast Georgia Health System. 

7. Trevor Sawallish was named CEO of Robbinsdale, Minn.-based North Memorial Health.

Jan. 25 - Jan. 31

1. Thomas Priselac, president and CEO of Cedars-Sinai Health System in Los Angeles, has announced his retirement after 30 years in the role. He did not specify a date or timeline for his exit. 

2. Richard Roehr was named CEO of Hazard, Ky.-based Appalachian Regional Healthcare's Kentucky River and Cumberland Valley regions, overseeing six hospitals.

3. Todd Howell was named CEO of Beckley (W.Va.) ARH Hospital, effective Jan. 29.

4. Theresa Rutherford, MSN, RN, president and CEO of HSHS St. Mary's Hospital in Decatur, Ill., plans to retire from HSHS this spring. 

5. Peter Banko, president of Chicago-based CommonSpirit's Colorado/Kansas/Utah division and former CEO of its Centennial, Colo.-based Centura Health joint venture, has stepped down from the organization.

6. Mary Casillas was promoted from interim to permanent CEO of Hollister, Calif.-based Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital. 

7. Kathy Bailey, RN, plans to retire as CEO of Morganton, N.C.-based UNC Health Blue Ridge in June. 

Jan. 18 - Jan. 24

1. Josh Snow was named CEO of Mobile, Ala.-based USA Health University Hospital.

2. David O'Brien, MSN, RN, was tapped by Louisville, Ky.-based ScionHealth to lead Kindred Hospitals as CEO of the South Florida market. 

3. Patti VanDort was named CEO of Holland (Mich.) Hospital. 

4. Danny Van Ranken was named interim CEO of Kearney (Neb.) Regional Medical Center as William Calhoun exits the role. 

5. LaDonna Johnston, RN, was named interim president and CEO of Searcy, Ark.-based Unity Health.

6. Michael Garcia, RN, was selected as the new CEO of Houston Methodist Sugar Land (Texas) Hospital.

7. Shannon Black was named CEO of Manning (Iowa) Regional Healthcare Center, an affiliate of Des Moines, Iowa-based MercyOne.

Jan. 11 - Jan. 17

1. Darshan Shawn Parekh, PharmD, was named CEO of Philadelphia-based Roxborough Memorial Hospital. 

2. Dan Shields was named CEO of digital medicine at New Orleans-based Ochsner Health. 

3. Eleze Armstrong was named CEO of Twin Cities Community Hospital in Templeton, Calif., a member of Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare. 

4. Shannon Black was named CEO of Manning (Iowa) Regional Healthcare Center. 

5. Anthony Boutin, MD, was ousted as president and CEO of East Meadow, N.Y.-based Nassau University Medical Center by the hospital's board. 

6. Kenneth Rose, president and CEO of Texas Health Hospital Mansfield, is leaving his post to helm another AdventHealth-affiliated hospital: UChicago Medicine AdventHealth Bolingbrook (Ill.).

7. Thomas Kidd has retired as CEO of Macon Community Hospital in Lafayette, Tenn.

8. Natalie Mussi, longtime CEO of HCA's Los Robles Regional Medical Center in Thousand Oaks, Calif., is leaving her post to serve as vice president of operations for Surgery Ventures, a national surgery center network owned by HCA.

9. Donald Morrish, MD, was named CEO of New York City-based Episcopal Health Services.

10. John Kozyra was named CEO of O'Neill, Neb.-based Avera St. Anthony's Hospital. 

11. Emily Dilley was named CEO of Cumberland (Wis.) Healthcare. 

Jan. 4 - Jan. 10

1. Manuel "Manny" Linares was named CEO of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based Broward Health Medical Center. 

2. Jameson "Jamie" Smith is the new CEO of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho-based Kootenai Health.

3. Abha Agrawal, MD, has joined Lawrence (Mass.) General Hospital as president and CEO.

4. Harry Lemming was named CEO of Glen Oaks Hospital in Greenville, Texas. 

5. Cullen Brown was tapped for the CEO role at Kissimmee-based HCA Florida Poinciana Hospital. 

6. John Hunter, MD — who has served as executive vice president and CEO of Portland, Ore.-based OHSU Health since 2017 — is stepping down as the system works to finalize a merger with Legacy Health, also based in Portland. 

7. William Ermann will retire as CEO of Guymon, Okla.-based Memorial Hospital of Texas County. Three board members have also departed the hospital. 

8. Karl Keeler, chief executive of Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, Calif., has taken an additional role as chief executive of the Providence San Fernando Valley Service Area.

Dec. 29 - Jan. 3

1. Brent Burish was named CEO of HCA Florida St. Petersburg Hospital in addition to his role as CEO of HCA Florida Pasadena Hospital.

2. Brian Helleland was selected as chief executive of Providence St. Joseph Hospital Orange (Calif.) and chief executive for the Orange County/High Desert service area, part of Renton, Wash.-based Providence's recently reorganized California South division. 

3. Brian Dietz was suspended with pay from his role as president and CEO of the McDonough District Hospital and will remain on suspension through Feb. 5, pending an internal review. A hospital spokesperson cited a "personnel matter," but declined to comment further. 

4. Drew Waterman was named CEO of Grand Island (Neb.) Regional Medical Center, part of Lincoln, Neb.-based Bryan Health.

5. Sean Gregory has stepped down from his role as CEO of PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center in Vancouver, Wash. The organization did not specify a reason for his departure.
