3 HCA hospital executives resign

Three executives at hospitals affiliated with Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare have resigned, Becker's has learned.

Scott Cihak, president and CEO of Nashville-based TriStar Centennial Medical Center, announced his resignation Jan. 3, according to internal correspondence obtained by Becker's. After 31 years of service to HCA Healthcare and six years at the hospital's helm, Jan. 6 will be his last day.

Mr. Cihak is exiting the role for personal reasons.

At HCA Midwest Health's Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Mo., Olevia Pitts, MD, chief medical officer,  left her role Jan. 3 to take a senior leadership role outside of the organization, according to a letter to employees from CEO Ashley McClellan.

Ms. McClellan said the new position is "close to [Dr. Pitts'] roots in hospitalist medicine." Dr. Pitts joined Research Medical Center in 2017.

Ms. McClellan also told employees she is leaving Research Medical Center. Her last day will be March 1. CFO John Krajicek has been selected as interim CEO.

"While I am excited about new career opportunities ahead, I will sincerely miss the team and community we've built here at Research these last several years," Ms. McClellan wrote.

She became CEO of Research Medical Center in 2019.
