The following hospital and health system executive moves have been reported by Becker's since Dec. 16:
1. Sowmya Viswanathan, MD, was selected as the new chief physician executive of Clearwater, Fla.-based BayCare.
2. H. Takaji "Harry" Kittaka, MD, departed as chief transformation officer of Chillicothe, Ohio-based Adena Health System.
3. John Sylvia was named president and CEO of Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg, W.Va.
4. Osbert Blow, MD, PhD, CEO of Corpus Christi, Texas-based Christus Spohn Health System, will retire on Dec. 30.
5. Derk Pronger was selected as the next president of Corewell Health Farmington Hills (Mich.) Hospital.
6. Matthew Brandt was named CFO of Cape Girardeau, Mo.-based Saint Francis Healthcare System.
7. Steve Heatherly was named market president with Sovah Health and CEO of its Danville (Va.) hospital.
8. Stephanie Manson was named Acadiana market president with Baton Rouge, La.-based Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System.
9. Carrie Byington, MD, will step down from the top position at University of California's health system in June.
10. Jane Platten is leaving her role as executive vice president and chief administrative officer of Cleveland-based MetroHealth System.
11. Suzanne Martinez, RN, was named chief nursing officer of El Centro (Calif.) Regional Medical Center.
12. James Reed, MD, president and CEO of Albany, N.Y.-based St. Peter's Health Partners and Syracuse, N.Y.-based St. Joseph's Health, will retire Dec. 31.
13. Frank Pipas was named executive vice president and CFO at West Orange, N.J.-based RWJBarnabas Health.
14. Balpreet Grewal-Virk, PhD, was named senior vice president of community health at West Orange, N.J.-based RWJBarnabas Health.
15. Indu Lew, PharmD, was named chief of staff to Mark Manigan, president of West Orange, N.J.-based RWJBarnabas Health.
16. Robert Adamson, PharmD, was named executive vice president and CIO of West Orange, N.J.-based RWJBarnabas Health.
17. Robert Pellechio was named senior vice president and chief pharmacy officer of of West Orange, N.J.-based RWJBarnabas Health.
18. Danielle Mahaffey, MD, was named chief medical officer of Alamance Regional Medical Center in Burlington, N.C.
19. Anthony "Tony" Hollenberg, MD, was selected as Boston Medical Center’s new physician-in-chief.
20. Rex Brown, CEO of Hillsboro (Ill.) Area Hospital, will retire Dec. 31.
21. Jeff Egbert was selected interim CEO of Hutchinson (Kan.) Regional Healthcare System.
22. Melvin McNea — the retired CEO of North Platte, Neb.-based Great Plains Health — left retirement to serve as interim CEO of Scottsbluff, Neb.-based Regional West Health Services.
23. Patrick Peters was named administrator of Maquoketa, Iowa-based Jackson County Regional Health Center.
