CFO Henry Lipman: Grassroots Financial Leadership at LRGHealthcare

Supporting the hospital's missions through grassroots and community activity should be a goal for any hospital or health system executive, and Henry Lipman, CFO of Laconia, N.H.-based LRGHealthcare, epitomizes that commitment.

Henry Lipman is the CFO of LRGHealthcare in New Hampshire.In 2010, the American Hospital Association awarded Mr. Lipman the "Grassroots Champion Award" for his concerted efforts on improving public policy issues and advocating for the best healthcare in New Hampshire.

"Henry Lipman is a tireless advocate for his hospitals, Lakes Region General Hospital and Franklin Regional Hospital, his community, and the healthcare system in New Hampshire," New Hampshire Hospital Association President Steve Ahnen said in a news release. "He is thoughtful, engaged and vigilant about a myriad of issues, including access, reimbursement and health insurance coverage."

Mr. Lipman joined the ranks of LRGHealthcare in 1984 as the budget planning director. He has been the CFO of the two-hospital health system since 1997, and he has also been an elected official on the Laconia City Council since November 2005. Some of the projects Mr. Lipman has been involved in over the years include public and legislative awareness campaigns around private insurance negotiations and government funding of healthcare.

"Mr. Lipman is passionate about grassroots advocacy, and he cultivates his relationships with state legislators and the U.S. congressional delegation," Mr. Ahnen said. "He also makes sure that hospital trustees and hospital staff are informed and participate in the democratic process. Henry is a great resource to New Hampshire Hospital Association staff, and he willingly shares his expertise and ideas, often at a moment's notice.”
