Behavioral Hospital of Longview (Texas) will reopen this month under a new name — Magnolia Behavioral Hospital of East Texas.
CMS notified the 76-bed hospital in early July that it no longer met Medicare requirements due to alleged deficiencies that jeopardized patient health and safety. The hospital closed for months after its Medicare contract ended July 22.
Magnolia Behavioral Hospital CEO Allison Debruycker told the Longview News-Journal the hospital plans to reapply to CMS to obtain Medicare reimbursements for its services.
The hospital is slated to begin admitting patients Jan. 15.
