Upper Allegheny Health System is boosting employee wages across the Olean, N.Y.-based organization.
The more than $3 million investment will affect employees at Bradford (Pa.) Regional Medical Center, Olean General Hospital and ancillary facilities, according to a Dec. 31 news release. UAHS has more than 1,100 employees total.
"One of my initiatives since taking the role of president has been to change the culture," Jill Owens, MD, president of BRMC and OGH, said in the release. "I want to show that we're focused on making UAHS a great place to work. Our team members are the most valuable asset we have and an investment in them will help play in our success as the leading healthcare network."
The market adjustment increase is slated to occur in 2023.
UAHS said increases for existing employees began Jan. 1, and, to remain competitive, new hires will also see a higher starting rate.
Upper Allegheny Health System is an affiliate of Buffalo, N.Y.-based Kaleida Health.
