Median total compensation for CEOs across all industries rose significantly in 2014, largely fueled by pension value adjustments, market performance and peer pressure, according to a report from The Conference Board.
CEOs in the S&P 500 had a median total compensation of approximately $3.9 million last year, a 10.6 percent increase from 2013 and 20 percent higher than in 2010.
Median total compensation for CEOs in the Russell 3,000 reached $11.2 million in 2014, up 11.9 percent from 2013 and 34.7 percent from 2010.
