10 states with the largest dips in travel nurse pay

The average weekly travel nurse pay in September in the U.S. was $2,383, a decrease of 0.2 percent from the previous month and a 9 percent decrease from the same month in 2022, according to a report from Vivian Health, a national healthcare hiring marketplace.    

As of Oct. 3, there were 113,267 active registered nurse travel jobs on the Vivian Health site nationwide in the last seven days.

Here are 10 states with the largest dips to average weekly travel nurse pay in September compared with August, according to the report. (Note: The list does not include Washington, D.C.)

Delaware

August: $2,771.53

September: $2,529.87

Month-over-month decrease: 8.72 percent

Nebraska

August: $2,393.73

Month-over-month decrease: 3.83 percent

Oklahoma
