The emergency room and general medical unit are now open at St. Francis Hospital-Interquest in Colorado Springs. The 72-bed facility is Centennial, Colo.-based Centura Health's third hospital.
This marks the first phase of the facility's opening, with spinal and orthopedic surgical services to be rolled out next, according to a July 12 news release from Centura. There are 16 bays in the ED.
The $180 million facility is dubbed a "hospital of the future" for its innovative technologies to support patients and staff. The hospital features "smart rooms" where patients are given tablets to access test results, order meals and adjust the room temperature. Read more about the hospital features here.
