Vanderbilt, Deaconess open transplant, heart failure clinic

Nashville, Tenn.-based Vanderbilt Transplant Center partnered with Evansville, Ind.-based Deaconess Health System to open a new transplant clinic in Newburgh, Ind.

The Vanderbilt Transplant Clinic will see prospective heart, liver and kidney transplant recipients, as well as advanced heart failure patients, according to a Dec. 19 Vanderbilt news release.

No transplants will occur at the clinic, but Vanderbilt providers will visit once or twice a month to see potential candidates in preparation for a transplant at VUMC's main campus in Nashville. The clinic will also provide pre-transplant testing.
