UCSF Health's newest facility in San Francisco opens Aug. 27 and will offer adult urgent care, primary care, same-day surgery and specialty care.
The UCSF Health Bayfront Medical Building, a five-story, all-electric, 181,000-square-foot building, will house more than 130 physicians and provide "all-in-one-care" to patients, according to a health system news release.
Located in San Francisco's booming Mission Bay district, according to the San Francisco Chronicle, the $228 million facility will also house the city's largest ambulatory surgery center, the release said.
Specific features include 14 operating rooms for outpatient surgery, four of which are designated for ophthalmologic care; 15 types of specialty care; a radiological imaging suite; a physical/occupational therapy gym; a retail and compounding pharmacy; and a laboratory for blood draws.
"Every aspect of this care center has been thoughtfully designed with our patients' needs in mind so they have a single destination for comprehensive care right in their own neighborhood," Inga Lennes, MD, senior vice president of ambulatory services at UCSF Health, said in the release. "Whether it's a routine check-up or a more critical concern, our providers are here to serve patients so they can get the care they need when they need it and then sleep in their own bed that night."
UCSF Health includes the flagship UCSF Medical Center; UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals, with campuses in San Francisco and Oakland; Langley Porter Psychiatric Hospital and Clinics; UCSF Benioff Children's Physicians; and the UCSF Faculty Practice.
