Baptist Health Foundation, part of Coral Gables, Fla.-based Baptist Health, has kicked off its largest fundraising campaign with a goal to raise $600 million in philanthropic donations to invest in Baptist Health communities.
Baptist Health comprises 12 hospitals; 200 outpatient centers, urgent care facilities and physician practices; more than 27,000 employees; and 4,000 physicians, according to an Oct. 7 news release from the health system.
Here are four things to know about the campaign:
1. The funding raised for Power Extraordinary: The Campaign for Baptist Health will enhance patient care in Miami-Dade, Monroe, Broward and Palm Beach counties. It will also aid in research and innovation efforts.
2. Alex Villoch, CEO of the Baptist Health Foundation, said in the release that donors have provided close to $428 million since in 2019.
3. The campaign has already enabled support in the development and construction of the Kenneth C. Griffin Center at Baptist Health Miami Neuroscience Institute. The facility will allow expanded brain and spine research and treatment in one location.
4. Ten endowed chairs have been added as part of the fundraising campaign, which will allow Baptist Health physician-investigators to advance research and treatment in areas such as clinical neuroscience, skin cancer, cardiology, orthopedics, stroke neurology, pain and rehabilitation medicine, and radiation oncology.
