Arkansas hospital gets $4.9M before Baptist merger

Monticello, Ark.-based Drew Memorial Hospital was awarded $4.9 million in American Rescue Act funds as it prepares to merge with Louisville, Ky.-based Baptist Health July 1, the Arkansas Advocate reported June 14.

In February, the hospital had 11 days cash on hand. The hospital will be required to issue quarterly reports on its use of the funds.

The hospital will receive half of the money immediately and the other half Dec. 1, after it completes its merger with Baptist.
