AnMed Health taps nearly $127M in bonds for expansions

Anderson, S.C.-based AnMed Health has tapped $126.7 million in state Jobs-Economic Development Authority tax-exempt hospital revenue bonds for service expansion.

The bonds will fund medical facility expansion and upgrades in Anderson and Pickens counties, create 100 new jobs, and finance new outpatient campuses in Anderson, according to a Jan. 10 JEDA news release.

"JEDA bonds are once more giving AnMed the ability to expand our capacity to serve the health needs of our fast-growing service area," Christine Pearson, CFO of AnMed Health, said in the release.

AnMed is a comprehensive health system with more than 3,500 employees and 400 physicians. It also features a 461-bed medical center, a satellite campus with a comprehensive cancer center, physicians offices, a rehabilitation hospital, and a cardiac and orthopedic center.
