Somnia Anesthesia has announced it has entered into a partnership with the Anesthesia Quality Institute (AQI) for the national practice management company to participate in the AQI's National Anesthesia Clinical Outcomes Registry (NACOR).
NACOR aggregates anesthesia-related clinical outcomes data from participating practices and hospitals nationwide, with the goal of improving patient care. As a NACOR participant, Somnia will contribute anesthesia clinical outcomes data to the registry. This data will help the AQI identify best practices in anesthesia and improve the overall quality of patient care, according to a Somnia news release.
In return for their participation in NACOR, Somnia and other participants receive periodic benchmarking reports comparing their data to the registry's national aggregate data.
"We're thrilled to be the first national anesthesia practice management company to partner with the AQI and help contribute to their commendable purpose of producing national anesthesia clinical outcomes standards," said Hugh V. Morgan, Somnia's director of quality assurance, in the release. "Our clinical quality excellence program has been developed in direct alignment with the AQI so our new partnership is really a formal progression of our mutually aligned principles to establish and improve anesthesia care standards throughout the country."
