Royal Oak, Mich.-based Beaumont Health System and United Physicians, a Bingham Farms, Mich.-based organization with more than 2,300 physicians, have partnered to form a clinically integrated organization.
The organization, called Beaumont United Care Partners, is designed to control healthcare costs and improve quality and patient outcomes by sharing patient data and records with all providers. BUCP enables private physicians, United Physicians and Beaumont to seek joint, incentive-based payment contracts with payors, according to the news release.
"We expect BUCP to improve patient care, and it will help us to support and align with our independent physicians. It will also provide a platform for participating in Blue Cross-organized systems of care and Medicare's accountable care organization programs," said David Wood, MD, president of Beaumont Physician Partners.
