Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital-Boston. Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital in Boston is green in multiple aspects, from its building to its energy use to other sustainability projects. For instance, the hospital opened a new facility in April 2013 that is now LEED Gold certified. It was the sole recipient of the Energy Champion Award from the American Society for Healthcare Engineering this year for demonstrating outstanding leadership in energy efficiency, and also received the Greenhealth Emerald Award from Practice Greenhealth this year. Spaulding Boston is committed to all six Healthier Hospitals Initiative Challenges.
