Northwest Hospital was founded in 1960. CareChex named the nonprofit, 281-bed hospital as one of the top 100 hospitals for orthopedic surgery in 2014. It is also a Blue Distinction Center Plus for knee and hip replacements and spine surgery. Within its orthopedic service line, the hospital has two specialty centers: the Hip & Knee Center and the Hand, Elbow & Shoulder Center. It also offers a fragility fracture program, bringing providers from several disciplines together to establish a process for intake, treatment and discharge of patients suffering hip fractures due to age, osteoporosis and falls.
