Elizabeth G. Nabel, MD. President of Brigham and Women's Health Care (Boston). Dr. Nabel, a cardiologist and biomedical researcher, has served as president of Brigham and Women's Health Care since 2010. In addition, she serves as a professor of medicine at Boston-based Harvard Medical School, and in 2015, she was appointed chief health and medical advisor to the National Football League. Previously, she served as director of the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute from 2005 to 2009. During her time there, she established centers of excellence in developing countries to fight cardiovascular and lung disease. Dr. Nabel's work on molecular genetics of cardiovascular diseases has led to 17 patents and more than 250 scientific publications.
