The team at the Holy Cross Hospital Orthopedic Institute was the first in the world to use MAKOplasty, a robotic arm procedure, for partial knee resurfacing. Recently, physicians at the hospital were first to use MAKOplasty in South Florida for total hip replacement. The first reverse shoulder replacement in the nation using the FDA-approved Match Point System was performed at Holy Cross Hospital. The hospital was named one of America's top hospitals for orthopedic surgery in 2014 by CareChex, and it has also received the America's 100 Best Hospitals for Joint Replacement Award and America's 100 Best Hospitals for Orthopedic Surgery Award from Healthgrades.
