Ochsner Medical Center (New Orleans). Ochsner Medical Center began providing cancer care in 1981 and opened the Gayle and Tom Benson Cancer Center in 2010. The hospital has a research partnership with LSU Health Sciences Center for basic research into cancer prevention, treatment and cures. Ochsner Medical Center is also a member of the Louisiana Cancer Consortium and secured the highest CareChex Quality Rating for cancer care in 2017.
