1. Houston Methodist announced this month it was looking to fill roughly 1,500 open positions at its eight area campuses. Nursing, technician and administrative staff positions were open.
2. Ochsner Health System in New Orleans has a total of 1,484 open positions across the system. The areas included are:
- Mid-level providers
- Nursing — LPN, RN
- Pharmacy
- Physicians
- Accounting/finance
- Allied health/licensed medical
- Clerical/administrative support
- Clinical support
- Coding/medical records/HIM
- Fitness center
- Human resources
- Information systems
- Leadership/management/supervisor (across various areas)

- Research and support services
3. UnityPoint Health in West Des Moines, Iowa, planned to hold eight career fairs this month as it sought to hire more than 1,000 clinical staff systemwide. UnityPoint was recruiting for:
- Medical assistants
- Certified nursing assistants
- Physical therapists
- Occupational therapists
- Speech therapists
- Medical technologists
- Surgery technicians
- Respiratory technicians
- Pharmacy technicians
- Patient care technicians
- Polysomnography technicians
- Laboratory technicians
4. KentuckyOne Health in Louisville announced this month it was hiring about 300 nurses to address a need for more nursing staff, primarily in the Louisville market.
5. St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix has more than 200 job openings, according to KNXV-TV. Out of those 200 openings, more than 70 are in nursing. St. Joseph's also is looking to hire more than 40 physicians.
