Tarrytown, N.Y.-based Mental Health Association of Westchester debuted a set of behavioral healthcare telehealth stations throughout Westchester County July 21.
The initiative, called "Telehealth," enables patients to meet with MHA psychiatrists via two-way video consultations. The stations are located in the association's clinics in White Plains, Yonkers and Mount Kisco, all in New York.
The goal of the stations is to improve access to behavioral healthcare for patients in crisis situations or those who already use the clinic's walk-in services. The launch follows almost a year of planning, according to MHA officials.
"We are thrilled to introduce Telehealth to our clinical support offerings," said Charlotte Östman, CEO of MHA. "We foresee Telehealth to be a real game-changer for individuals who live in rural parts of our state and do not have quick access to behavioral health support."
