Olympus to break ground on service center in Tennessee

Olympus Surgical Technologies America — a subsidiary of Center Valley, Tenn.-based Olympus Corp. of Americas — will start construction on Thursday to build a new $12 million service center in Bartlett, Tenn.

The company, based in Southborough, Mass., was created in 2012 as a developer and manufacturer of minimally invasive surgical devices.

The new east coast national service center will be a two-story, 110,000-square-foot facility that will serve as a service and distribution center for a variety of Olympus products like endoscopes, surgical devices and generators.

Olympus aims to complete the project by April 2017.
