An internal technical issue put Medtronic's computer system offline for nearly a week, disrupting the devicemaker's global supply chain, reports StarTribune.
The computer system, which went down last week, tracks Medtronic's global manufacturing and customer orders. The outage "caused some delays to customer ordering and fulfillment," Medtronic told Becker's via an emailed statement. The technical issues also hindered the company's device manufacturing abilities.
Medtronic spokesman Fernando Vivanco said the issues impacted global business operations, but did not say how many customer orders were disrupted, according to the report.
"There was some variation of impact across Medtronic's four major businesses based on their underlying systems," he told StarTribune Monday via email. "We continue to work extensively to quickly process and ship orders made during this interruption."
