After a dip in September, logistics companies added thousands of jobs in the transportation and warehousing sectors last month, reports The Wall Street Journal.
Here are four things to know.
1. Transportation and warehousing companies added a total of 7,500 jobs in October, according to data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, leaving the industry up almost 8,000 jobs compared to October of last year.
2. Of the 7,500 new jobs, 3,000 of the positions were created in the trucking sector.
3. Warehousing and storage companies created 3,300 new jobs in October, bringing a total of 43,600 new jobs to the areas, according to the report.
4. Courier and messenger companies added 1,500 jobs between September and October, WSJ reported.
