The Indiana Blood Center is in urgent need of blood donations, according to the IndyStar.
The center said it holds less than a day's supply of blood, referring to the shortage as a "potential crisis."
IBC is urging people of all blood types to donate as soon as possible at one of its seven blood centers across the state.
According to the center's website, an average donor gives blood twice a year. If people instead donated three times a year, these types of shortages would be rare.
