Here are the six latest drugs or medical devices approved by the Food and Drug Administration.

1. The Amplatzer PFO Occluder, developed by Saint Paul, Minn.-based St. Jude Medical, is a new stroke prevention device.

2. New York City-based Tyto Care recently created a digital stethoscope as part of its cloud-based telehealth solution.

3. Hydrocodone bitartrate and acetaminophen tablets are a generic painkiller manufactured by Somerset, N.J.-based Gavis Pharmaceuticals.

4. Dublin-based Medtronic recently developed a "smart defibrillator" that can assess the effectiveness of pulses sent to a patient's heart and adjust the rate of the pulses accordingly.

5. Vemlidy, manufactured by Foster City, Calif.-based Gilead Sciences, is intended to treat patients with compensated liver disease caused by chronic hepatitis B virus.

6. Intrarosa is a treatment for postmenopausal women who experience moderate to severe pain during sexual intercourse.
