The following drug companies made headlines this past week.

1. Merck to build tech hub in Texas
Merck Sharp & Dohme Corp., a subsidiary of Merck & Co., will develop a technology innovation center in Austin, Texas, following Gov. Greg Abbott's commitment to provide the company with a $6 million grant from the Texas Enterprise Fund.

2. Lupin recalls 12k bottles of antidepressant
Lupin Pharmaceuticals voluntarily recalled 12,480 bottles of its Paroxetine extended-release antidepressant tablets.

3. Tennessee drugmaker shut down for selling unapproved dermatology drugs
Johnson City, Tenn.-based Crown Laboratories must halt the manufacturing and distribution of various prescription and over-the-counter skin creams following a complaint filed by the Department of Justice on behalf of the Food and Drug Administration.

Cantrell Drug Co. issued a voluntary recall of all lots of its unexpired sterile drug products due to a lack of sterility assurance.
