The National Patient Safety Foundation will host a "Patient Safety in All Settings" Twitter chat on Tuesday, March 15 at 2 p.m. EST to address concerns about safety across the care continuum.
In December, the NPSF published its "Free from Harm" report, which found that most of the patient safety research conducted in the U.S. in the past 15 years focused on hospital settings, but most healthcare is delivered in other places. It is in these other care settings that the NPSF sees a gap in understanding the adverse events to patient safety that occur and how they can be mitigated.
The Twitter conversation will focus on patient safety issues common to all settings where care is delivered and will include participants such at The Joint Commission, the CDC and the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, among others.
