Minneapolis-based Allina Health has notified 141 patients they may have been exposed to tuberculosis while receiving treatment at two of the system's hospitals, according to a local ABC News affiliate.
The two hospitals are Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis and Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids, Minn.
According to an Allina Health statement given to the local ABC affiliate, the system discovered two care providers had TB and potentially exposed patients at both hospitals. "We carefully and thoroughly reviewed records to identify patients who had been closely enough in contact with these workers to have potential exposure to TB," the statement reads. "All of these patients have or will receive a telephone call and letter notifying them of the exposure and advising them to seek medical attention if they have experienced any symptoms of TB."
The health system will reportedly pay for all health testing and any follow up treatments related to the potential exposure.
