The Boston-based Lucian Leape Institute, the National Patient Safety Foundation's think tank, has announced the appointment of two new members: Charles Vincent, PhD., and Amy C. Edmondson, PhD.
Dr. Vincent is a professor of psychology at the University of Oxford in England and emeritus professor of clinical safety research at Imperial College in London, where he served as director for the Center for Patient Safety and Service Quality. Dr. Edmondson is Novartis Professor of leadership and management at the Harvard Business School in Boston.
The Institute's work focuses on identifying and framing vital transforming concepts that require system-level attention and action. On Sept. 17 it will host the 8th Annual NPSF Lucian Leape Institute Forum & Keynote Dinner, which will include discussions about greater transparency in healthcare and panel discussions on communication and resolution following medical errors.
