Henry Ford Health System ships out new hospital gowns

Detroit-based Henry Ford Health System has their patients' backs covered, literally. The system has shipped out more than 35,000 new gowns that cover their patients' derrières to its hospitals.

The new Model G gowns — developed by the system's Henry Ford Innovation Institute and made by Dearborn, Mich.-based clothing company Carhartt — offer more style and address the lack of rear coverage that many patients complain about with other hospital gowns.

The Model G gowns resemble wrap-around robes that cover the back using adjustable snaps on the front and along the shoulders and are made of a cotton-poplin blend for improved comfort. Their name is a tribute to Henry Ford's Model T car.
