State health officials visited Children's Hospital of Michigan, part of Detroit Medical Center, on Monday to start a surprise inspection on behalf of the federal government, according to The Detroit News.
CMS is investigating if the hospital made changes to address the shortcomings in patient safety and central sterile processing that were uncovered in a January inspection.
DMC officials told The Detroit News last week that most of the issues that came to light in January have been fixed.
Surprise inspections could last up to three days, according to the report.
