CMS has extended the deadline for hospitals to submit data to Medicare quality reporting programs after users reported problems with the online portal, according to AHA News Now.
Hospitals in the prospective payment system now have until Feb. 24 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific time to submit chart-abstracted clinical measures and the web-based perinatal care measure in the inpatient quality reporting program. Prospective payment system-exempt cancer hospitals also have until Feb. 24 to submit cancer-specific treatment measure data.
Additionally, hospitals in both programs now have until March 15 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific time to submit healthcare-associated infection data to the National Healthcare Safety Network. Inpatient rehabilitation hospitals and long-term care hospitals can submit HAI data through May 15 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific time.
