The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality has updated its guide, "Preventing Hospital-Associated Venous Thromboembolism: A Guide for Effective Quality Improvement."
The resource, originally published in 2008, offers clinicians guidance on how to prevent VTE. The updated resource includes new metrics for tracking the adequacy of VTE prophylaxis, increased use of electronic health records and more examples of prevention tools.
The guide aims to assist quality improvement practitioners in leading efforts to improve VTE prevention.
