The following five hospitals and health systems recently named new people to patient safety and quality leader roles, such as patient safety officer or director of quality management.
1. Sleepy Hollow, N.Y.-based Phelps Memorial Hospital Center created a new role — assistant vice president of clinical operations and patient safety officer — and named Helen Renck, RN, to fill it.
2. Michael Parish joined Roanoke, Va.-based Carilion Clinic as its vice president of quality and patient safety.
3. Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, Ky., named Andrew Behan as chief quality and patient safety officer.
4. Niagara Falls (N.Y.) Memorial Medical Center named Jacqueline DeCarlo to its staff as director of quality management.
5. Rhonda Battani was named director of quality/patient safety officer at Florida Hospital Fish Memorial in Orange City.
